Over approximately 10 years, I worked on the Baroque House in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario. Baroque House is the vision of Jim Brochu and currently operates as a corporate rental property, with 5 bedrooms, meeting space and all sorts of amenities perfect for a small corporate event.
We started with custom dragon door knockers on the front doors. From there I created everything from bathroom fixtures, kitchen cupboard door knobs, floor grates, exterior detailing, street sign, artwork, furniture... and on and on.
The project was the most extensive of my career and was a really exciting part of my artistic creation.
Many of the pieces that you see in the Gallery on this website were done for the Baroque House.
One of my favourite pieces was the copper hand railing on the front steps (see photo below). It's very unusual to see a copper railing, because it's very difficult to create a large art piece like this out of copper.
I also really enjoyed working the custom art pieces and the interior details - mirror frames, bathroom accessories, kitchen hardware and furniture... and much more.
